Year 3 had such an amazing opportunity to take part in The Day of the African Child at St Margaret's Primary School in Whitnash. Before the trip they worked to collaboratively design and make a Harbury School banner representing our link with UMC School in Bo, Sierra Leonne. All 15 link schools from our local area were present at the celebration and a super day of celebration took place with arts, drumming, and singing! We joined the parade, proudly displaying our banner, and singing one of our link songs: Lift Your Banners High. Thank you to all the staff and parent helpers on the day.
The children were so full of enthusiasm following this day and have used this to create some beautiful artwork. They will also be sharing their experiences in one of our whole school worships later in the term.
