We are excited to share that we have recently purchased a school orienteering and outdoor learning resource from Enrich Education. This initiative will provide us with the tools and resources to enhance physical activity across the curriculum. You may have already noticed our newly installed orienteering markers in the outdoor areas, along with our bespoke school orienteering maps, which we will be using throughout the year with all year groups.
As part of the launch, on Thursday 13th February, we welcomed Enrich Education to lead an Orienteering Experience Day for all classes from Reception to Year 6. During these exciting sessions, children were introduced to our new orienteering maps and had the opportunity to use the markers for the first time. They practiced navigating, problem-solving, and working collaboratively, helping them build confidence and enthusiasm for outdoor learning.
The Enrich Education coaches were incredibly impressed with the children’s positive attitude, enthusiasm, and fantastic teamwork throughout the day. They praised their listening skills, determination, and ability to quickly grasp new concepts, which made the sessions even more enjoyable and successful! We are excited to see our pupils engage with orienteering throughout the year and look forward to incorporating these skills into a wide range of lessons.
