This term our topic is
Throughout the autumn term, we will be travelling back in time, to the very beginning of civilisation, and learning about life in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. Through our class texts like Stone Age Boy and The Stolen Spear, we will explore narrative, non-fiction and poetry and in our history lessons we will be finding out how we can learn about the past when nothing was written down. We will also be welcoming some very special visitors to our class this term...more details to follow!
In maths, we will focus on securing our understanding of number and place value. We are increasing our maths offer in the classroom with more quick recall sessions to constantly revise the key principles that are fundamental to success in this subject.
Mark making will be our focus in art and in science the class will learn about rocks and fossils. We are taking part in swimming lessons this term and exploring the fundamentals such as balance, agility and control in PE lessons. In RE, we will be asking 'What is it like to follow God?' and our values this term are love and respect.
We are very lucky to have the opportunity as a class to learn the trombone this year and lessons will start very soon. Under the guidance of a specialist teacher, we will learn this skill together and hope to perform for an audience at the end of the year!
