This term our topic is
We will be learning about the Second World War in Europe and why the Battle of Britain was such a significant turning point in British history. Throughout the term, we will be finding out about how ordinary people faced the Blitz and coped with rationing and evacuation. We will also learn about the inspiring stories and achievements of significant people such as Anne Frank and Winston Churchill.
In English, we will be using key texts such as 'The Lion and the Unicorn' and 'When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit' as well looking at sections of Anne Frank's diary. These texts will provide inspiration for a number of different writing outcomes including diary entries, descriptive writing and newspaper reports.
Year 3 will learn about the importance of nutrition in science this term and also the role our skeletons and muscles play in protection and movement.
In RE, we will be thinking about 'What is it like to follow God?' and gaining a deeper understanding about our values of thankfulness and responsibility.
We will begin our trombone lessons this term with a specialist teacher and are lucky enough to be attending swimming sessions at Southam Pool.
