To love, learn and grow together
This term our topic is
We will be using this classic text by Kenneth Grahame as our inspiration and go on many marvellous adventures with the characters of Mole, Ratty, Badger and of course Mr. Toad. We will also be exploring the geographical features of rivers and the water cycle. Then sticking with the watery theme, we will explore the work of Monet and create some watercolour landscapes.
In science, Year 3 will be learning all about plants and investigating the function of the leaves, roots, stem and flowers. There will be lots of opportunities to plan fair tests, make observations, draw conclusions and also dissect a flower.
In RE, we will be thinking about 'who is Jewish and what do they believe?' and our Understanding Christianity unit 'Why do Christians call the day Jesus die Good Friday?' as well as gaining a deeper understanding about our values of loyalty and perseverance.
We will continue our trombone lessons this term with a specialist teacher and will be improving our basketball and gymnastic skills during our PE sessions.
